Interpretations

I have always been interested in how things work, and from a very young age I dismantled them to understand them.

Reassembling the pieces with which these objects were originally designed, following a purely aesthetic and functionally interlocking criterion, gives rise to sculptures that retain the soul and, if you'll pardon the expression, the energy of the object.

An 'Interpretation' is a sculpture created from the elements of an object such as a sewing machine or a typewriter, based on the following premises: the parts remain intact. No holes, cuts or bends are made. The pieces are joined using the screws, moulds and clips of the object itself, and no external elements or adhesives are used.

The process is as follows: the object is deconstructed piece by piece; the pieces are selected for working and finally assembled to create the sculpture. From the object to be 'interpreted' one or more sculptures can emerge. The works are made from the object's own materials, essentially ferrous materials.
