The Gosip Mickey Mouse
This sculpture captures the essence of the famous Disney character, Mickey Mouse, because I sought to convey one of his most endearing characteristics: his innate curiosity. That’s why I created him with an elongated neck that allows him to stick his head out the window and gossip about what everyone else is doing. This posture defines his desire to explore the world around him and discover new adventures. And my intention has been that his attitude reminds us, as viewers, to keep our curiosity alive and look out into the world with renewed eyes.
This work has been made with recycled everyday items such as sewing machines, pans, lamp parts, doorknobs and bicycle plates.
